Trail Run On Arctic Frozen Lakes!
Take part in the first-ever Arctic Half Marathon and Arctic 10km Trail Run across the frozen lake of Kilpisjärvi, Finland. This extraordinary endurance challenge, brought to you by EcoFitness and Adventure.ie, invites you to test your limits and experience true adventure in one of the most breathtaking and remote Arctic landscapes on Earth.
Set deep within Lapland’s Land of the Aurora, Kilpisjärvi is a place of pure Arctic magic. Here, runners will experience the silence and stillness of the far north,where snow, ice, and light combine to create an unforgettable world of frozen beauty. The course unfolds across the frozen surface of Lake Kilpisjärvi, surrounded by stunning views of mountains and fells, their snow-covered slopes gleaming beneath the northern sky. This is not just a race, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime frozen lake run and Arctic trail run that captures the raw spirit of the north.
- Day 1: Transfer from Tromso airport to base accommodation. Welcome briefing and snacks.
- Days 2: We hit the ground running on day 1 – Gear up early and hit the trail for our first training run but first we must complete a number of safety workshops:
- How to dress for the cold
- How to stay warm
- Emergency procedures
- Day 2 we take in the sights of Kilpisjarvi with an optional run.
- Day 3 is the big day as we get ready for the half marathon and 10km on the lake
- Day 5: morning departure to Tromso.
- In the event of poor weather conditions, the itinerary may be altered for your safety and enjoyment.
From Tromso Airport. Exact transfer time dependent issued to participants closer to departure.
Return Transfer to Tromso Airport.
